Bioteg Biofilter Material

Bioteg has developed a very effective organic biofilter material (Bioteg bps BT-50/100) based on shredded pine roots. Due to the natural tanning agents in the roots, this filter material is extremely stable and alters its physical and microbiological properties only slightly over time.

Our solutions range from simple vent pipe and manhole inserts for remote hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and odor control solutions to turn-key stand-alone units for wastewater pump and lift stations and complex modular container biofilters for higher airflow rates such as at wastewater treatment plant headworks or biosolids handling areas.

Bioteg was established in Kulmbach, Germany in 1990 and has distinguished itself through the development of straight-forward, cost-effective and low maintenance solutions for our customers’ odor control needs.

Bioteg’s biofiltration technology is centered around our unique organic biofilter material that has an extremely low pressure drop, allowing its use in passive biofilters without fans for sewer manholes, vent pipes and force main air release valves.

The same media is used in our larger systems for pump and lift stations, wastewater treatment plant headworks, or biosolids applications, allowing for higher than normal filter bed heights, and lower footprints while operating efficiently with very low power usage.

Bioteg Biofilter Systems are in accordance with the “VDI Richtlinie VDI 3477, Version: 03/2016, Biological waste gas treatment – Biofilters”. They also fulfill all requirements which arise from the “ATV Merkblatt ATV-M 204”.
